From the rulebook uploaded for that game, and nothing else. When a customer asks a question, MeepleHelper pulls the relevant passages from that game's rulebook, and an AI model writes a short answer using only those passages.
It doesn't use forum threads, house rules or anything else it might know about the game.
The game shows as "Not available yet" in the rules section, and customers can't ask about it until its rulebook is uploaded.
The answer tells the customer that the uploaded rulebook doesn't have that information.
No. We look for a PDF rulebook for each game on your shelf and upload the ones we find. Some rulebook PDFs are scanned images with no readable text, and we can't use those.
When a game has a PDF rulebook, customers can also open the full PDF from that game's rules screen.

We import your public BoardGameGeek collection, including each game's player count, play time, complexity, categories and mechanics. Recommendations only ever come from those games.
If you add games to your collection later, we can run the import again to pick them up.
Yes, for now. Your games need to be listed in a public BoardGameGeek collection, since that's where we import them from.
We do. We create your page, import your games, upload rulebooks and send you a QR code image to print on your table cards. There's no cafe login to manage yet.
Your own subdomain, like yourcafe.meeplehelper.co.uk. The page shows your cafe's name, and the QR code on each table opens it.
Yes. Every recommendation and rules question is logged against your cafe, and customers can mark each rules answer as helpful or not. We can go through it with you, including which games people asked about that don't have a rulebook yet.
Customers enter an email address or phone number when they first open your page, and choose whether they want to hear about your offers and events. We can export that list for you.
Bag 3Pricing and trial
3 pieces · For cafe owners
£50 a month per cafe. That covers game recommendations, rules lookup and your own subdomain.
It's normally a one-off £195. We're waiving it for now.
Yes. You get 30 days free before the £50 monthly price starts.
Bag 4At the table

Scan the QR code on your table. It opens the cafe's page in your phone's browser, so there's no app to download.
You don't need an account or a password. Enter an email address or phone number once and you're in for the next 12 hours on that phone.
The cafe uses it to keep in touch. If you don't want to hear about their offers and events, untick the box before you continue.
You tell it how many of you are playing, how long you've got and what you're in the mood for. You can also set how complex you want the game to be, and whether you'd like familiar games or hidden gems.
It suggests games from this cafe's own shelves, each with a one-line reason it fits.
They come only from that game's rulebook. If the rulebook doesn't say, the answer tells you so. For a close call you can open the full rulebook from the same screen, when the cafe has a PDF of it.
No. The cafe pays for it.
